Privacy Policy

How WTG handles information.

This Privacy Policy explains how What's the Game? handles information in the current V1 iPhone app, website, and related support services.

What's the Game? Golf is operated by WHAT'S THE GAME GOLF, LLC (“WTG,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

Effective date: October 8, 2026

Information we handle

WTG may handle the following categories of information to provide the service:

How we use information

WTG uses information to create and secure accounts; identify golfers and authorized participants; organize Trips, Normal Games, invitations, rounds, and shared scorecards; synchronize scores and round state; calculate game results, settlement summaries, history, and Stats; remember approved preferences; provide support; investigate feedback; maintain service integrity; and comply with applicable obligations or resolve disputes where necessary.

Shared golf records

WTG is designed for shared rounds. Authorized participants may see information needed for the group or round, including golfer identity, scores, game settings and decisions, results, and settlement calculations.

If an account is deleted, completed shared golf facts may remain in de-identified form when needed to preserve other participants' scorecards, results, Stats, and the mathematical integrity of settlement calculations. Personal account links are removed.

Scorecard photos and on-device OCR

In the current V1 scorecard-import flow, an image selected from the camera or photo library is processed on the device using bundled OCR components. The selected image and proposed scores remain in the active import interface. You can review, edit, cancel, retake, or explicitly apply the proposed scores.

A proposed value does not become authoritative gameplay data unless you apply it. The source scorecard image is not uploaded by this workflow; only scores you apply become gameplay data.

Website data practices

The current public website does not use advertising, analytics, tracking pixels, cross-app tracking, third-party fonts, third-party scripts, cookies, or persistent browser tracking. Standard hosting infrastructure may process ordinary network information needed to deliver and secure the site, such as request and security-event data.

Service providers

The current V1 iPhone client does not include an advertising SDK or cross-app tracking code. Paid membership purchasing is not active. If paid purchasing is enabled later, this policy will be updated before launch to describe the payment implementation.

Security

WTG uses authenticated server contracts and row-level controls to help govern access to server data. Authentication sessions and limited app state may be stored on the device. No system or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.

Retention

Information is retained only as needed for product operation, security, legal obligations, accounting, and dispute handling. Different information may need to be retained for different periods. WTG does not publish a fixed retention schedule in this V1 policy.

Account deletion

You can initiate account deletion from Profile in the app. You may need to transfer ownership of a Trip or Normal Game to an eligible successor, or use an offered archive option, before deletion can finish.

After authoritative deletion succeeds, account authority and personal links are removed; personal payment-destination preferences, sessions, invitations, and applicable capabilities are removed or revoked; and the app clears its local WTG session. Shared completed golf facts may remain in de-identified form as described above. See Account Deletion for the current product flow.

Your choices

Depending on the feature, you may update profile and payment-destination information; choose whether to use scorecard photo import; review, correct, cancel, or apply OCR suggestions; submit optional feedback; control participation in groups and rounds through available app features; and initiate account deletion.

For a privacy question or request concerning your information, email privacy@whatsthegamegolf.com. WTG may need to verify that a requester is authorized before acting on an account-specific request.

Children and eligibility

WTG is intended for users who may lawfully create and use an account under the rules that apply to them. The current product is not designed as a children's service. Do not submit another person's personal information unless you are authorized to do so.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the product, service providers, or legal requirements change. The current version will be posted at this URL with its applicable effective date.
