How do I create an account?

Choose the account-creation option, enter your name, email, password, and optional handicap information, then complete email confirmation if requested. Never share your password or confirmation code.

How do I join a round?

Open the join flow and enter the round code supplied by the host. Invitation links may also open the correct join flow. Confirm that the displayed round and golfer identity are yours before continuing.

How do I create a round?

Choose the course and holes, add or invite golfers, select the games, review handicaps and game settings, then create the round. WTG uses a round code so approved golfers can join the shared scorecard.

What is a round code?

A round code identifies one shared WTG round. Share it only with the intended group. It does not replace account authorization, and possessing a code alone does not grant unrestricted access.

How do score entry and corrections work?

Authorized participants enter scores in the shared scorecard. Corrections update the authoritative round state and the game calculations derived from it. Review the final scorecard before completing the round.

Which games are supported?

Supported formats are Skins Buy-In, Skins Carry Over, Nassau, Stroke Play, Team Best Ball — Match Play, Team Best Ball — Stroke Play, Best Ball — Low Score / Low Total, Best Round, Vegas, Nine Point, Left/Right, Sixes, Wolf, Trash, Closest to the Pin, and Team Scramble. Setup options vary by game.

How does Team Trash work?

Trash can be played individually or as a team. Team Trash uses exactly two equal-sized teams from a supported fixed-team game or the actual Left/Right sides for each hole. Choose Per Teammate, Team Total, or Player vs. Player. Sixes, unequal teams, and more than two teams are not supported for Team Trash in V1. A Team Scramble score alone does not identify which golfer earned a Birdie, Eagle, or Ace.

How do presses work?

Where a game supports presses, each press is tracked as a separate result under the configured rules. Review the setup and live status before completion; WTG doesn’t create or hold anything of value; it tracks the press result.

How does Wolf work?

WTG rotates the Wolf, records partner, Lone Wolf, or Blind Wolf choices, applies the configured multipliers, and keeps incomplete holes pending until required decisions and scores exist.

How do team games and Team Scramble work?

Players are assigned to teams during setup. Team Best Ball uses the applicable player scores. Team Scramble records one score per team and, in net mode, makes the lowest entered Team Handicap the zero-stroke baseline.

How do handicaps work in net games?

For supported player-score net games, WTG applies strokes relative to the golfer with the lowest Playing Handicap in the group. Gross games are unaffected. Team Scramble net play compares the entered Team Handicaps using the lowest as the baseline.

What are Trips?

Trips organize a recurring group, roster, invitations, rounds, and group results. Trip access and organizer actions remain tied to authenticated membership and role.

What are Normal Games?

Normal Games organize recurring non-Trip groups and their rounds. They are useful for a regular weekly group that wants stable membership and history without creating a golf Trip.

How do Stats work?

Stats show your lifetime summary and completed Round History, with newer completed rounds first. Tap a history entry to revisit its scorecard and results. New accounts start at zero and show no completed rounds yet.

Can I watch a round without scoring?

Yes. Signed-in golfers with a valid round code can use the free, read-only Spectator view for supported active or completed rounds. Spectators can follow the scorecard and results but cannot enter or change scores.

What happens at the end of a round?

WTG shows the final result of every game and a simple end-of-round summary. WTG does not hold money, send money, guarantee payment, or mark an outside payment complete.

What are payment preferences?

A golfer may save an optional Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, or No preference shown on the end-of-round summary. A preference doesn’t grant membership, change scores, or confirm payment.

How does photo scorecard import work?

The app can use a camera or library photo as an assistive score-entry tool. OCR runs on the device. Uncertain cells require review, every score can be corrected, and nothing is applied until the user explicitly confirms the reviewed scores.

How do invitations work?

Use the invitation or code from the group organizer. If an invitation is expired, belongs to another identity, or no longer has authority, request a new one from the host rather than sharing credentials.

What should I do if the connection drops?

Return the app to the foreground and allow it to reconnect. After reconnection, confirm that recent scores match the shared round before continuing, and avoid repeatedly entering the same correction while offline.

How do I report a problem?

Signed-in users can use the in-app feedback control. Describe what happened and what you expected, and include a round code only when needed. Never include passwords, authentication codes, private keys, full payment credentials, or another golfer's private information.

How do I delete my account?

Open Profile and choose Delete account. The app requires deliberate confirmation and may require an ownership transfer or archive decision. Read the account deletion explanation before proceeding.

Is membership required?

No. Participation remains free. Paid membership purchasing is currently disabled and does not block ordinary free gameplay.

What if I lose access to my session?

Try signing in again with the same account. If needed, use the password-reset flow and the newest email link. Do not create a second account merely to regain a golfer identity without first confirming the original account cannot be recovered.

How do I ask a privacy question?

Review the Privacy Policy and deletion explanation, or email privacy@whatsthegamegolf.com.
